Plymouth and District League
Green Waves v Exeter City

GREEN WAVES v EXETER CITY.

PLYMOUTH AND DISTRICT LEAGUE.

Saturday, December 16th.

This game was played at St Budeaux this afternoon in connection with the Plymouth and District League. In the first minute of the game Andrews tested Frude, who proved safe.

Green Waves.
Frude; Fawcett, Hisbent; Bustin, Southern, Glazier; Venning, Chapple, Tipping, Gilbert, Flannigan.
Exeter City.
Sturge; W. Wells, Fitzgerald; Morgan, Davidson, Brooks; Reid, Thomas, Reed, Andrews, Russell.

Exeter narrowly missed scoring in the tenth minute, Thomas in a good position sending over the bar. Exeter continued to have the better of the play but could not score. When Green Waves advanced Sturge was tested by two or three of the forwards, but was found to be safe. The City were the smarter side, giving a good display of clever combined football. The Waves relied solely upon individual work, with the consequence that they usually lost the ball. There was no score up till the interval, but Green Waves obtained a goal in the second half.
Result:
Green Waves 1 Exeter City 0.
