Exeter City v Plymouth Argyle

On Christmas Day a large crowd assembled at the County Ground to witness a friendly match between Exeter City and a strong Plymouth Argyle team, which included J.Sutcliffe, the English international goalkeeper. Exeter won by 3 goals to 2.

City: Sturge; Fenwick, W. Wells; Bastin, Davidson, Morgan; Sellick, Thomas, Reid, Eveleigh, and Russell.

The Argyle team
was:- Sutcliffe; Black, McNiel; Mortimer, Pethick, and Tapson; Peard, Godley, Burch, Bauchop, and Crocker.
