Plymouth and District League
Exeter City v Millbrook Rangers

EXETER CITY V MILLBROOK RANGERS.

PLYMOUTH AND DISTRICT LEAGUE.

There was a very good attendance at St James's Park, Exeter, on March 3rd, when the above teams met for the third time in the present season. Both were at full strength, but a very late start was made owing to the visitors not reaching the ground in time for the kick-off at the proper time.

EXETER CITY
Sturge
W.Wells Fenwick
Morgan Davidson Brooks
Sellick Thomas Reid Andrews Russell

Referee:- Sgt-Major Adams.

Flannigan Macey T. Bath Collins Bishop Millett Mildren P. Bath
Wright Rounsevell
Snell
MILLBROOK

Within a couple of minutes of the start the Exeter quarters were visited, but the defence proved sound, and Davidson relieved, a huge kick sending the ball almost to the dead ball line. Exeter should have profited by a misunderstanding between Rounsevell and Wright, but they failed to avail themselves, and Millbrook broke away with Macey sending in a beautiful centre which was headed over the top of the net by T. Bath.

Goal Disallowed for Offside.

A second attack by the Rangers was halted in fine style by the City defence, Wells completing the clearance after Sturge had fisted out, then Exeter raised the siege and Russell beat the visiting goalie with a hard shot, but was ad judged offside. Reid missed badly when well placed, and a shot from Thomas was punched out by Snell, but Exeter, not to be denied, continued to press furiously and following a melee in front of the posts Reid shot the first goal. Andrews shot over the bar just as the whistle sounded for half-time, Exeter leading by a goal to nil. The second half opened sensationally, Andrews scoring straight from the kick-off. Nothing further was obtained, the City thus winning by 2 goals to nil.
