EXETER CITY v PLYMPTON.

Easter Monday, April 16th.


A large holiday crowd witnessed the match at St James's Park, played this morning between Exeter City and Plympton.

Exeter City met Plympton at St James Park, in the morning, and after a hard- fought game the match ended in a draw of two goals each. There was quite a holi day crowd present. Plympton led at half time by a goal to nil, but the citizens managed to equalise just on "time." Massey registered the goals for the city with splendid shots.


City: Sturge; W. Wells, Fenwick; Thomas, Bastin, Davidson; Sellick, Richardson, Reid, Russell, Massey.

Plympton: - Creber; Northmore, Manning; Stevens, Shaddock, Hill; Warren, Thomas, Walton, Nicholas, Hill.

Exeter v Scratch X1

In the afternoon the city played a scratch XI. composed of several local players. There was a very small crowd, and little interest was taken in the game, either by the spectators or players. The City were not at full strength, but managed to beat their opponents by three goals to two. Read played a good game for the winners. Hill was the best player on the losers' side,
