Match 15
15th December 1906
Friendly
Holsworthy (a)

City Reserves v Exmouth Albion

HOLSWORTHY v EXETER CITY.

Saturday, December 15th.

The "friendly" at Holsworthy this afternoon aroused a great deal of local interest. The City team left Queen Street station this morning by the 10.12 train, and took a fairly strong team, as follows:-

Vibart; Fenwick, Robins; Bastin, Davidson, Muncey; Sellick, W.Wells, Thomas, Russell, Reid.

The match was played in bad weather, rain falling during the great part of the proceedings, and the ground was a quagmire of muddy slush. Holsworthy scored first through Bridgeman, and led at half time by that goal to nil. Resuming, the home team pressed, and Rowland scored for them after Wells, who had gone to centre half, had checked an attack led by Bridgeman. Wells and Sellick scored for the City, but in a further hot attack by Holsworthy, Vibart was penalised through carrying and Gilbert scored from the free kick. Holsworthy thus won by 3 goals to 2.

Exeter City Reserves v Exmouth Albion

The City Reserves beat Exmouth Albion, at St James's Park, by one goal to nil.
