ROYAL MARINES v EXETER CITY.


Saturday, February 9th, at Plymouth.

Exeter City were very anxious today to atone for last week's disaster against Torpoint but had difficulty in raising a team strong enough to take on Tor point, who are the most scientific side in the Plymouth and District League, and who beat the City at St James's Park by 4 goals to 1 earlier in the season.

Baker, Spargo, Hill; Colclough, Hare, Reeves, F.Wells, Rawlings.

Exeter City :- Vibart; Hill, Fenwick; Aspey, Campbell, Muncey; Sellick, Massey, Wilson, Eveleigh, Rev E.Reid.

Result: Royal Marines (Reeves, Hare, Wells) 3, Exeter City (Reid) 1.

Befiore a moderate gate. Friernhay were the better team throughout, and at half-time led by three goals to one. After the interval the citizens played better, but failed to add to their score. Friernhay meanwhile put through another goal, and won be four goals to one.
