PLYMOUTH ARGYLE RESERVES v. EXETER CITY
at Home Park, Plymouth:
February 16th 1907
There was a good attendance at Home Park today, where Exeter City played the Argyle Reserves in the return Plymouth League match. The opening stages were keenly fought out, and an attack on the Argyle right wing was repelled by Fenwick.
Argyle Reserves:- Squires; Cudlipp, Wyatt; John, Pethick, Manley; Peard, Wheaton, Burch, Meager, Haynes.
Exeter City :- Vibart; Hill, Fenwick; Muncey, W.Wells, Rev E.Reid; Sellick, Thomas, Massey, Wilson, Eveleigh.
Referee:- Mr J.H.Wiltshire.
After fifteen minutes Haynes got possession from a free kick taken by Wyatt, and transferring to Burch that player beat Vibart with a good shot to give Argyle the lead. The referee disallowed a goal by Thomas, the ball appearing to have crossed the goal line before Squires threw out. Burch scored a second goal for the Argyle and Wilson replied for the City. Burch obtained a third goal for Plymouth near the close, and Wells sent over the bar from long range.
Argyle 3 Exeter City 1.
