Plymouth & District League
TAVISTOCK v EXETER CITY.
Last game of the season.
Exeter Footballer's Death.
The Exeter City players engaged in the East Devon v. Plymouth Argyle match to-day will wear black crepe on the arms as a mark of respect to Frederick Youlden, of the Exeter City Football Club, who died on Thursday last of consumption. The City players will also wear crepe at their final League match of the season next Saturday, at Tavistock.
Youlden, who was only 18 years of age, will be buried at the Higher Cemetery tomorrow. He was a regular player for the City Reserves, and a dashing forward of much promise. He had several times, in fact, played for the Firsts this season, notably against Torpoint. His untimely end has caused the deepest regret throughout Exeter Association Football circles.

Saturday, April 27th, at Tavistock.
Exeter City's last match of the season, at Tavistock, came off today, the Grecians winning by 5 goals to 2 after leading by 2-1 at half-time. This game should have been contested on November 24th but was postponed on account of the enquiry into the affairs of the Tavistock club by the Devon F.A.
The Exeter team today was:
Chapman; W. Wells, Coates; Muncey, Warner, and Bastin; Sellick, Pryce, Thomas, Vansinter, and Russell.
Badly as Tavistock have performed during the past season, the match with Exeter City, Ot the Sports Field, on Saturday, was rightly described as one of the poorest ex- positions of football ever seen at Tavistock True, the Exonians won by five goals to two, but for this score they have to partly thank their opponents, whose extraordinary apathy during the last twenty of thirty minutes of the game passes all understanding. Without attempting to rob Exeter of the laurels of victory, it can safely be said that their general play did not merit such a decisive wan-although they were denied a legitimate goal in the first half- nor would they have obtained it against any diefence deserving to be called such. The first half did produce a few flashes of foot- ball, and in one of theso Sillick opened Exeter's account within a minute from the start. Cole met several fine shots, but, subsequently, he was beaten by one from Russell. Cole met the ball with his fist, but it came with such force that he only partially diverted its course. No goal was given, although Exeter rightly claimed it. As last the Tavistokians asserted themselves, for, following a prolonged attack, during which they had several corners, Capsey equalised from a judicious centre. Dveter however, soon regained the lead, thanks to Russell, who brushed aside all opposition and netted. Exeter enjoyed a one-goal lead at the breather.
Play in the second half was tame-and uninteresting, Tavistock making spašinodic attempts to combine, while Exeter resorted to the kick-and-rush style, and shooting from long range. Just after Pryce had netted the visitors' third point Capsey scored a second goal for the "Lambs." Thereafter the latter collapsed completely, and long shots by Tomlinson and Pryce proved too much for Cole.
Result:- Exeter City 5-2 Tavistock
