Plymouth and District League
St Michaels (a)
East Devon League:-
15th Brigade (h)
SAINT MICHAEL'S v EXETER CITY
Saturday, November 23rd, at Kill Park, Devonport. Plymouth and District League.
ST MICHAEL'S 1 EXETER CITY 1.
Exeter City:- W.Wells; Fenwick, Dyer; Letheren, Goodchild, Warner; Sellick, Singlehurst, Eveleigh, Drew, and Clark.
Sellick won the toss and Exeter played up the hill. Dyer and Fenwick defended well, and Dyer, after stopping Powell, passed to Clark, who centred to Singlehurst, but that player shot over the bar. Singlehurst then came into collision with Bray, and had to retire temporarily. Exeter continued to press despite the loss of Singlehurst, and Drew from Dyer's pass ran through and scored but the goal was not allowed, on the grounds of offside. Snell scored for the Saints, and five minutes before the interval Exeter welcomed the return of Singlehurst. Eveleigh scored for the City in the second half following a pretty combined move between himself, Sellick and Singlehurst.
CITY RESERVES V 15TH BRIGADE.
This East Devon League match was played at St James's Park on the above date. Bastin turned out for the Reserves, who, despite their recent good form, were expected to suffer a reverse, the Brigade having so far proved irresistible in League matches.
City: Cann; E.Wells, Perrington; Norrington, Bastin, Sercombe; Ransom, Badcock, Stoneman, Hyde, Hellings.
The Brigade won, as expected, the score at the finish being in their favour by the margin of five goals to one. The City played fairly well and did not deserve to lose by such a high score.
