Match 16 FriendlyYeovil (h)21st December 1907 Exmouth United
EXETER CITY v. YEOVIL
Friendly
Saturday, December 21st,
at St James's Park.
The Plymouth and District League match between Exeter City and Green Waves was postponed, no reason given. The City fixed up a friendly with Yeovil, who until this season were known as Yeovil Casuals.
The visitors came down short-handed, and Stoneman, the Friernhay captain, played as a substitute for them.
City: W.Wells; Fenwick, E.Wells; Letheren, Banks, Bastin; Sellick, Singlehurst, Eveleigh, Massey, Drew.
Yeovil:- Bailey; Seymour, Peaty; Galpin, W.Seymour, Maughan; Lodge, Hicks, Clinker, Stoneman, Burton.
Referee:- Mr W.Bastin.
Exeter City won by one goal to nil, but ought to have won with a margin of several goals to spare. Yeovil were only a very poor side, totally unlike the old Casuals. A great improvement is already evident in the City, and it is in a large measure due to the coaching of Banks, and his insisting upon regular training.
Exmouth United v City Reserves
Exmouth United beat the City Reserves at Exmouth by two goals to nil.
