EXETER CITY v. ORESTON ROVERS

Snow Half a Foot Deep on the St. James's Ground

Saturday, December 28th.

The important Plymouth League match at St James's Park between Exeter City and Oreston Rovers, due to be played this afternoon, was abandoned after an inspection of the ground by the referee, Mr J.Dennis, and players at 2.45. The necessary postponement was a great disappointment to Oreston Rovers, who have a good League record, and had brought down the strongest side at their disposal. The following teams were selected:

City:- Ashford; Fenwick, Dyer; Letheren, Oliver, Banks; Sellick, Singlehurst, Eveleigh, Massey, Drew.

Oreston: J. Edwards; G.Jessop, A.Kingwell; Dodridge, Arch Ellis, Albert Ellis; A. Shapter, F.Carder, S.Oxland, H.Ellis, J.Squires.

  • Another date will be arranged at a League meeting to be held at Plymouth on Monday night. At this meeting decisions will also be arrived at concerning the unfinished Millbrook Rangers match and Green Waves failure to keep their fixture with Exeter City last Saturday.
