Late Start in the League Match at Devonport
Saturday, March 21st.
A very late start was made in this match at the Brickfields this afternoon, the kick-off not taking place until 4.45 o'clock. In the first half play was fairly even. Massey succeeded in finding the net with a good shot, and at half-time the City led by a goal to nothing. On the restart the Marines got away, McClenghen scoring. Exeter resisted further attempts by the Marines and eventually regained the lead through Massey from Eveleigh's centre. Exeter severely tested the Marines' defence and Singlehurst scored. The result was Exeter City 3 Royal Marines 1.
