EXETER CITY V. ESSA
Saturday, April 11th,
at St James's Park.
EXETER CITY 6 ESSA 1.
All chances of a good "gate" at St James's Park this afternoon were woefully upset by the pouring rain which descended through out the morning.
City: W.Wells; Fenwick, E.Wells; Letheren, Mudd, Banks; Sellick, Eveleigh, Massey, Singlehurst, Badcock.
Essa: Coakley; Batten, Brewer; Good sell, Cruttenden, Tucker; Moyse, Hanc ock, Matters, Pryor, Hodge.
Referee:- Mr Thompson, of Tiverton.
The City brought off another fine win, their record score of the season. Essa were everywhere outclassed, but are full of pluck. It is a pity, however, that they are so prone to cavil over the referee's decisions. Banks played a sterling game for the City, and in the last twenty minutes the home forwards showed what could be done by a little first-class combination.
Scorers:- Eveleigh 2, Sellick 2, Singlehurst 2.
