Match 35
18th April 1908
Plymouth and District League
Looe (a)
Looe v Exeter City
Saturday, April 18th.
LOOE 4 (Prideaux, Angear 3)
EXETER CITY 1 (Singlehurst).
Plymouth League match.
The City found "hot stuff" waiting when
they visited West Looe, Blaney and Pearce having come on from Liskeard to lend a hand to Looe. Angear, too, had his shooting boots on, and this clever forward had a bag of three goals as his day's work. Exeter were in fact disorganised by the retirement and subsequent absence of Fenwick. The wrenching of his knee was an accident and was regretted by the fisherfolk as much as by Exeter, for it took all the life out of the game.
Looe: Wilcocks; Fletcher, Hosking; Pearce, Toms, Taylor; Stevens, Blaney, Angear, Prideaux, Varcoe.
City: W.Wells; Fenwick, Ashford; Banks, Mudd, Oliver; Sellick, Eveleigh, Massey, Singlehurst, Badcock.
