With Blain out of the reckoning on account of an eye injury Exeter City's eleven was reshuffled for this afternoon's match at Layer-road, Colchester. Blain's vision was impaired and his eye black after getting kicked during the game at Brentford yesterday. In addition Gadston, who had a poor game against his former club, was dropped. Balson switched to left-back, Morris coming in at right half, with Parker moving across to the left. Banks was recalled to inside right and Binney was at centre-forward. Pleat was the "sub." Colchester made two changes from the side which beat the promotion hopefuls, Aldershot, yesterday.
Exeter City:- Wilson; Crawford, Balson; Morris, Sharples, Parker; Giles, Banks, Binney, Wingate, Mitten.
Colchester:- Smith; Howe, Hall; Cram, Bickles, Wood; Brown, Gibbs, Light, Jones, Dyson.

Referee:- Mr K.Styles, of Barnsley.
Colchester immediately carried on from where they had left off yes terady by taking the lead in three minutes. Exeter equalised after 19 minutes when Wingate gathered a pass from Mitten about 35 yards out and first-timed it into the net past the bemused Colchester goalkeeper. Colchester, generally the better and faster team, regained the lead twenty minutes from time through Jones.
