TWO players were sent off as Exeter were hit for six in the Third Division. Former Bath City defender Martyn Rogers was ondered off in the 37th minute and Doncaster's Steve Lister followed in the 52nd. Exeter, were already 4-0 down when Rogers departure reduced them to ten men.

It wasn't until two minutes from time that Pete Rogers, booked earlier with substitute Aidan Gibson and John Delve, got a consolation goal. Doncaster had already wrapped up the points with goals from Tommy Graham, Lister (pen), Gary Liddell, Colin Douglas, Keith Viney (own goal) and Glynn Snodin.
