Biographical Text
Ken Rose was with Exeter City during 1952/53. He joined the club from Chesterfield and later made a small number of appearances played for Rochdale and Workington.
Rose commenced his senior career with Chesterfield, signing a full contract with them in November 1950, but he never made a Football League appearance for the Spirerites.
Signing for Exeter City in June 1952, he made his debut for the Grecians, and scored, in the 1-0 home win over Millwall in September 1952. In and out of the team, he did score twice against Aldershot in April 1953, but he was given a free transfer at the end of the season.
Rose signed for Rochdale in July 1953, but once again never had a regular first team spot and after a further 11 league outings left at the end of the 1953-54 season. His final League club was Workington, whom he joined in June 1954, but once again he only stayed one season as a player, scoring two goals in six league appearances. He was then appointed Workington’s assistant trainer.
Ken Rose died on the 7th November 1996.
