Anton Rodgers - son of Liverpool, Celtic and Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers - played twice for Exeter City in 2013 when on loan from Brighton. He later played for Oldham and Swindon before moving into non-league football.
After spending time at Chelsea, and playing for Republic of Ireland under-19s, Anton joined Brighton aged eighteen in 2011 and appeared once as a substitute in a FA Cup tie against Wrexham in January 2012. He moved to Exeter on loan just over a year later and played in two games against Rotherham and Chesterfield in April 2013. Returning to Brighton, Anton was immediately released in May 2013.
Joining Oldham Athletic for a season, Anton then had three seasons at Swindon making seventy-seven league and cup appearances before his release in May 2017. He then played for Hungerford Town ahead of moving on to Marlow, Wealdstone and Bracknell. He also played in a 2017 pre-season friendly for Celtic, then managed by his father, as he trained with the Glasgow club to regain his fitness after leaving Swindon.
Anton later signed for Basingstoke Town in October 2021 and was still on the club’s books during 2022/23.
