Another reprieve for Exeter City. That's what it amounts to after their win over Grimsby Town, For now if Mansfield Town lose their last two games and City can win at Swindon Town next Saturday, they will still be in Third Division football next season. It's a slim hope, but give City their dues, they fought all the way against Grimsby Town, With the game just 15 minutes old, Wilf Carter floated a ball into the penalty area and George McLean rammed home a perfect header against his former club This was just what City needed to settle down, Grimsby had an equal share of things and the two points were not clinched until seven minutes from time when Alan Banks scored his farewell goal at St James' Park before moving to Plymouth Argyle next week with Peter Shearing, The men who take top marks from this game are Ray Harford, and Colin Buckingham who completely bottled out the Grimsby danger men Green and Tees. The result was that for all Grimsby's share of the game, they did not have any power in front of goal, City must now wait and cling to a faint hope,
