This game was only 14 minutes old when Hull's local born centre forward Chilton broke one record and set up another, for when he thumped the first of his side's goals past Shearing he became the first visiting player to score at St James's Park this season, At the same time this score was Chilton's 100th goal in League soccer. Almost immediately City were back on terms through Banks, who made a triumphant return to City's first team after injury. No sooner had the Exeter crowd's cheers died down, Hull regained the lead, this time inside forward Houghton scored the best goal of the match, with a header that flashed in off the underside of the bar from a Wagstaff passWhile others were doing the scoring it was Wagstaff who was doing the damage as he roamed around the City defence seemingly unchecked. Shortly before half time his pass ended with Houghton scoring Hull's third goal, remont bie In the second half Exeter came more into the game as Hull appeared content with their lead, but they could not match the Yorkshire side for attacking power Wagstaff rounded off a great game with a fine goal in the 58th minute when he ran on to a Chilton cross and hit it past Shearing,

TAUNTON TOWN 4,
EXETER CITY RESERVES 0,

Scorers
Taunton Kitchen 3, Rackley.

Taunton gained handsome revenge for their beating at St James's Park the week before. Even with transfer listed centre half Peter Anderson and centre forward Dermot Curtis both experienced in Football League soccer, Exeter were no match for the speedy Taunton. The home side were unlucky not to be in front by the interval but within five minutes of the restart, centre forward Kitchen crashed in a cross from the left to put them one up, It was all Taunton from then on, Kitchen added another goal ten minutes laterLeft winger Rackley gained the third and Kitchen the fourth just before time,
