Every Exeter fan was anxious to see new £5,000 signing Jack Kennedy, but they finished cheering Bruce Stuckey off the field from nearby Newton Abbot who was making his home debut. He played a major part in building attacks that produced more shots in this game than in almost all the previous home matches this season, Rovers had to thank thier goalkeeper Hall for a series of saves which kept down the scoreline, He had a brillaint game thwarting Exeter on several occasions, The one shot that did beat Hall came in the 51st minute when George Ley cracked in a 35 yard shot that never rose more than six inches off the ground before skimming just inside the post, The game was played in a howling gale and sometimes freezing rain but the encounter was full of interest, George McLean was desparately unlucky not to have added his name to the scorers list, a header rebounded froim the post and a shot was cleared off the line, new man Jack Kennedy used the ball well, but there are still some weaknesses that will be pounced on, exploited, and used to crush the City side when they meet better teams than Bristol Rovers.

CZECH SIDE TO VISIT CITY .
By securing a forthcoming match (6th December) with top continental opposition, Slovan Bratislava, the City has proved once again how anxious they are to provide good football entertainment at St James' ParkAs the club have been having a thin time of it recently, there are those who will scoff at this, but steps are being taken to try and improve the situation. The club appreciate the degree of disappointment that was felt among supporters following City's quick exit from the F,A,Cup, a defeat that destroyed any chance the fans had of seeing one of the more attractive Football League teams on this ground, So to make up for this, Exeter City have taken a risk and agreed to guarantee a large amount of money, so that supporters can see Slovan Bratislava at the Park, a team that is sprinkled with international players,
