Biographical Text

Stuart Robertson made a handful of appearances for Exeter City during the early 1980s after signing from Burnley. He later played for Doncaster Rovers ahead of appearing for a string of clubs in Scotland most notably at Stirling Albion where he made over a hundred league appearances. 

Glasgow-born Stuart started as an apprentice with Burnley where, signing professional in July 1977, he played 32 league matches before signing for Exeter City in March 1982 on a short-term contract. Making his debut in the 4-0 defeat at Reading on 27 March, he made six appearances during what remained of the season. 

Leaving St James’ Park at the end of the campaign, Stuart signed for Doncaster Rovers, where he featured in 25 league matches during two seasons with the club before heading to Scotland for spells with Falkirk, Brechin City, Queen of the South, Dumbarton, Stirling Albion, Ayr United and East Stirling in the seasons leading up to the end of 1993/94. Subsequently appearing in Scottish junior football with Pollok, he briefly returned to the Scottish league with Albion Rovers ahead of managing Lesmahagow.
