Exeter City were supposed to be going all out to avoid relegation but instead they gave visiting bottom of the table York City their first away victory of the season. It was just pathetic from City's point of view. So poor were City, that far from accusing spectators of feeble support they restrained themselves very well. York City were equally as poor. City had most of the play but did nothing with it. Only once, when an Alan Banks shot hit the underside of the bar did they even look like scoring, York had at the most half a dozen attacks and they got two goalsBoth were scored by Burden in the 22nd and 85th minutes. Only Colin Buckingham and Keith Harvey come out with any praise, simply because they did not stop working, Exeter City assistant manager Jock Basford still refuses to admit defeat or relegation even after the team have thrown four home points away in five days, Basford is certainly a trier and if Exeter go down, as it seems inevitable as they must, it won't be his fault. City must show more fight, if they are to pick up any more points,
