Alan Banks, Exeter City's 31 year old striker set a new a club record at York City, when he scored his 90th goal for the club. It was also Exeter's second goal of the game but York fighting back from 2- 0 to earn a point with a good performanceNew signing Molyneux made his debut for Exeter in the centre of defecne and had a useful looking game, City were in front after 7 minutes, Barry Rowan's shot was blocked by Hillyard, but he followed up to score from the rebound via a post, Exeter kept up their attacks, Joe Gadston shot wide when well placed but after 38 minutes increased their lead, Banks seized on a mistake by Swallow to easily beat Hillyard, City held a comfortable lead at half time. The second half was a different story though, York had the Exeter goal under siege, but the City defence was coping well. They eventually cracked in the 61st minute, McMahon headed goalwards and despite frantic efforts by Rowan and Bob Wilson the ball ended in the net, York drew level after further furious pressure in the 74th minute, again McMahon was the scorer, following a cross from Taylor which was helped on by Aimson,
