Here is a brief round-up of the Grecians' friendlies against lower- league opposition the build-up to the 2013/14 season.
CLEVEDON TOWN 0 EXETER CITY 2
Hand Stadium, Monday 15th July, 7.30pm
City travel to Mansfield for the first time in over ten years in their first away game of the season.
Goals by Jimmy Keohane and Jake Gosling got City off to the ideal pre-season start. Their goals came a minute apart midway through the first period - Keohane netted first when Clevedon stopper Danny Greaves could only palm a cross into his path, before Gosling's deflected effort looped beyond the goalkeeper's reach.
BUCKLAND ATHLETIC 0 EXETER CITY 2
Homers Heath, Saturday 20th July, 2pm
A Tom Nichols brace gave a young City side victory in Buckland. In truth, the Grecians (and Nichols) might have added further to the tally - however the 19-year-old pounced quickly on defensive errors at the end of each period and took them with aplomb. Elliott Chamberlain had earlier been denied by the offside flag.
WESTON-SUPER-MARE 1 EXETER CITY 3
Woodspring Stadium, Thursday 25th July, 7.30pm
A Jake Gosling strike and an Elliot Chamberlain double helped City on the way to victory at Weston. Gosling had turned a cross in late in the first period and the Welsh striker doubled the lead early in the second half, before Weston midfielder Nabi Diallo reduced the arrears with a cracking strike. Chamberlain made sure of the win 15 minutes from time.
SALISBURY CITY 1 EXETER CITY 3
Raymond McEnhill Stadium,
Friday 26th July, 7.30pm
Jimmy Keohane's goal midway through the second half proved decisive for the Grecians in a well-fought battle against Conference side Salisbury. The Grecians went ahead early as Will Puddy bundled into his own net, but a Ricky Wellard free-kick drew the Whites level after an hour. Keohane rounded off a neat passing move soon after.
CHIPPENHAM TOWN 1 EXETER CITY 7
Hardenhuish Park, Wednesday 31st July, 7.45pm
City ran riot against the Bluebirds in what had been an even match until the last of the three periods. Jake Gosling's deflected strike had been cancelled out by Isaac Reid, before goals in the final 20 minutes by Matt Jay (2), Tom Nichols, Jimmy Keohane, Ollie Watkins and Jordan Tillson made the win look emphatic on paper and on grass.

A look at a slight reshuffle in numbers for 2013/14
Below are the squad numbers which the Grecians will wear for the 2013/14 season.
There will be little in the way of surprises for City fans that have been to see the Grecians in pre-season, with the players wearing their new numbers already. A number of second-year pros have had their numbers lowered, and the summer signings and first-year pros have been given their digits for the season too. But in case you couldn’t get there, here are the squad numbers you’ll find on the back of the programme for the season’s starter against Bristol Rovers (plus one late addition)
