A second half hat trick by Ray Keeley including a penalty, led to City's great win over promotion chasing Wrexham, It was not easy for Exeter. They had to work really hard, especially in the first half, but after the interval they hit Wrexham hard, The visiotrs were a fast side and looked dangerous in attack and were perhaps unfortunate not to have score before the interval, City came out attacking in the second half and were rewarded in the 47th minute with Keeley volleying the ball high into the net. He scored again after 65 minutes following a move between Peter Godfrey and George McLean, Eleven minutes later Godfrey was pulled down by Schofield as he went through and Keeley made no mistake from the penalty spot to complete his hat trick, After 80 minutes Ernie Wilkinson went off and on came Bruce Stuckey. It was Stuckey who scored City's fourth goal just on full time sliding in Godfrey's pass, City relaxed and immediately paid the penalty with Evans netting a consolation goal for Wrexham. City became the first side to score more than twice against Wrexham this season, A fine Exeter performance,

MCLEAN'S NO TO YEOVIL.

George McLean, Exeter City's transfer listed centre- forward has turned down a chance to join Southern League Yeovil Town, Yeovil enquired after McLean but discussions did not go beyond the preliminary stages and he was not interested in joining a non league club. WESTERN LEAGUE.

EXETER CITY 2 YEOVIL TOWN RESERVES 0

City team:
Ken Jones, Alan Goad, Bobby Nash, Graham Mustard, Ben Embery, Mike Balson, Bruce Stuckey, David Baglow, Ray Elliott, John Wingate, Roger Smith

Scorers:
Exeter Balson, Elliott,

Exeter City gave a poor display against a struggling Yeovil team, but it was still good enough to claim both points. The goals were scored in the 60th minute by Ray Elliott from the penalty spot, and ten minutes later by Mike Baison whose low shot was deflected into the net. It was Elliott's second goal in successive Western League matches, having scored in the 1-1 draw at Bideford five days earlier. After this Exeter gradually began to get on top but too often they ran into trouble and were not accurate enough with their passing Dave Baglow hit the crossbar for City, and with Ken Jones and Exeter's defence looking pretty solid, they were never really in any trouble at the back.
