Referee:- Mr F.J.Bricknell of Exminster. Linesmen:- Messrs E.Edworthy and I.Kennard.
Colin Tinsley, the goalkeeper who seemed forgotten by Exeter City, might after all fight his way into the first team. Unable to get into the Fourth Division line-up since he was signed at the start of the season from Darlington, Tinsley was brought in to replace Jones in this friendly match after the score stood at:- 4-1 against Exeter at half-time.
He did not have to deal with the barrage that Jones faced from the Yugoslavian sharp-shooters in the first half, but he did turn in a very useful performance that might stand him in good stead when the City team for the next match is selected. This friendly, played by floodlighting, was an attractive game and the City had plenty of it, but they did not find the Yugoslavs such a push-over as the South American side which came to the St James's Park ground just a few weeks ago. Belgrade's two wingers were the fastest seen at the Park this season and they did most of the damage.
