Not all the pleas for support, not all the arguements in the world will bring good sized gates to St James's Park if Exeter City keep playing as Badly as they did against DarlingtonThe Northern team were nothing startling, yet Jones had to make some first class saves and another sound stopping performance from Harvey prevented them grinding City into the snow covered ground.

The only good thing that could be said about City is that they fought harder when they were reduced to ten men, after McMillan went off with an ankle injury and almost snatched a point. Before that they were pathetic, they did not challenge could not pass properly and showed a lack of enthusiasm. The goal that mattered came in the 36th minute as Martin gave Jones no chance with his shot,

When reduced to ten men, City attacked more and only good goalkeeping from Peacock prevented Brown, Gordon, Jenkins and Sullivan scoring an equaliser. The city have only three wins in their last 20 games, they must do better than this to avoid having to apply for re-election for the second successive season,
