ACCRINGTON WOUND UP-NO FIXTURE FOR CITY.

Exeter City are due to play at Accrington Stanley on Saturday, but last night an emergency meeting was called by the Lancashire club and they have gone into liquidation with debts of over £60,000, City secretary Keith Honey said this would save Exeter about £60, for Accrington would have to pay the £100 minimum guarnatee and it would cost Exeter approximately £160 in travelling and hotel expenses,

WEDNESDAY 7th MARCH 1962.
EXETER WILL NOT BE A SECOND ACCRINGTON.

Mr George Gillin, Exeter City vice chairman gave an assurance today that Exeter City will not become a second Accrington Stanley, He said if Mr Rose and himself had not been prepared to carry on and put money into the club, then Exeter City F.C, would not be here now. Certainly the club needs help but we are carrying on, The withdrawal of Accrington means that all games played against them this season are expunged from the records. In City's case this means no difference, but it does mean that they are now only three points clear of the bottom four.

FRIDAY 9th FEBRUARY 1962.
CITY'S FUTURE IS DEFINITELY BRIGHTER.

Exeter City F,C, chairman Mr Reg Rose and vice chairman Mr George Gillin had a meeting with the full committee of the Grecian Associaition at St James's Park last night, Mr Chris Dendle chairman of the Grecians said today that Exeter City are not going to pack up as long as any of us can prevent oit and the club's future is definitely brighter now, Relationships between the Grecians and the board have always been good and the Association are 100% behind the board, Mr Rose put all their cards on the table last night and a full discussion was held about the financial position,
