Exeter City seems to have found some shooting boots at last. It will certainly come as a relief to the club's supporters to know that the City, with the poorest goalscoring record in the whole Football League have been able to get a couple of goals in one game. Satisfaction will also be felt in the knowledge that the confidence that these goals and this win gave the team, could now pull them out of their bottom of the League table position in the Fourth Division. Although the match was far from being a classic it was lively and entertaining, and the City established their two-goals lead just before the whistle blew for half-time. And another satisfying feature was that it was two of Exeter's new forwards who scored the goals.

Yeovil Town v Exeter City Reserves
Exeter Reserves too slick for Yeovil
Yeovil Town Reserves 0-1 Exeter City Reserves,
A young, slick Exeter reserve side were by far the superior side in last night's Western League game at Yeovil but their forwards were held in check by a stubborn defence. Had it not been for the splendid play of full-backs Robshaw and Topping and centre-half Harris, the score would have been much greater.
The only goal was scored in the 43rd minute by inside-right Symes. Although Yeovil made an all-out bid in the second half to get an equaliser the forwards could not get the better of goalkeeper Jones. A quarter of an hour from the end, Exeter lost their right-half Williams, who was carried off injured.
