Exeter City were rather unlucky to be two goals to nil behind in their match at Chester, but Graham Bond put them right back in the fight with two goals, the first a 25 yards' volley, soon after the interval. Chester quickly went back into the lead only for the City, making a sustained effort, to equalise again and then go ahead. Then in the closing minutes the home side scored again to share the points. The City gave a very creditable performance three days after their gruelling cup replay with Manchester United, but it was those two goals by Bond which inspired their revival in the second half. When Exeter City secured Bond from Torquay United last week they also took another player.
- He is Ray Carter, a young centre forward, headers, in his first game for the City Reserves against Portland. and he marked his change of clubs by getting four goals, all from The final score was 9-nil for the Reserves.
