Exeter City again showed that they are a much improved team when they gained a well-deserved victory over Bradford, runners up in the League to Crystal Palace before today's game and strongly fancied for promotion to the Third Division. The City looked the more dangerous side from the start and led at half-time by two clear goals. Alvan Williams, playing against his old club, captained the City team. Jenkins, Carter, and Dale were Exeter's outstanding forwards and Jones was an excellent goalkeeper. But apart from one spell in the second half when they let Bradford get a grip of the game, the whole team played good and attractive football.

Bridgwater Win Against Odds
BRIDGWATER TOWN 2, EXETER CITY RES. 1.
The slippery, muddy pitch provided a test for both sides. Bridg- water's rather haphazard tactics brought better results than did the more classic play of Exeter. who looked more dangerous in attack. Exeter were so often on the offensive that goals seemed certain, but it was not until the last minute that Wilkinson, who had a great game at centre-forward, scored for Exeter. Cameron gave Bridgwater the lead after 20 minutes and Tonkin added another from a Burr pass after the interval.
