Having appeared for Southport, Barrow and Accrington, Jacob Parsons played just three times for Exeter City in 1930/ 1931. He later played for Thames, Mansfield and Rotherham.
Jacob scored sixty goals in a season for his local club Whitehaven Athletic before earning a move to Southport in 1927. Scoring prolifically for the reserves, he moved on to Barrow in February 1928 and Accrington Stanley a year later.
Arriving at St James’ Park in the summer of 1930, Jacob made his debut against Bristol Rovers in September 1930 but only played three league matches before leaving for Thames FC in the summer of 1931 where he played in just four league fixtures.
He subsequently made a handful of appearances for both Mansfield Town in 1932/33 and Rotherham United in 1933/34.
Jacob died on 23 December 1953.
