A first half goal by Peter Godfrey gave Exeter City their third away success of the season, But it was no more than they deserved against a poor Notts County side, The City possessed more ideas than County although the game was dominated by two rugged defences, There was little to enthuse over either attack and it was generally left to City's front rank to provide the few bright spots of the game, Godfrey scored the all important goal after 28 minutes. Just previously Rose had fisted away a shot from Dixie McNeil, There was a lot of aimless play from both sides and little for the spectators to enthuse over, although Ray Harford dominated in defenceThe County attack did not cause any trouble for the Exeter defence at all. City might have won by a more convincing margin, but for Rose in the Notts County goal making two late saves from Jim Ryan and Godfrey, Meadow Lane over the years has not been the happiest of grounds for the City to visit but on this occasion they were the more successful of the two sides in a poor game,
Summary
Exeter City gained their third away win of the season by defeating a poor Notts County side at Meadow Lane by a goal to nil.

Exeter C Res. v Glastonbury
Exeter pay for misses
Exeter City Reserves 1, Glastonbury 3.
There are no excuses for Exeter City Reserves. They had their chances and failed to take them in this Western League match. Glastonbury went ahead through Bob Gibbs, and this Inspired City to a brief spasm of activity. John Wingate equalised within a minute but this was City's last fling. Meyer restored the lead and Gibbs made it safe for Glastonbury
