Biographical Text

Arriving from West Bromwich Albion in 1995, Neil Parsley played for Exeter City at the end of a Football League career that also saw him appear for Huddersfield Town, Chester City (loan) and Doncaster Rovers (loan) having started his professional career with Leeds United.

Playing for Witton Albion, Neil signed for Leeds United as a 22-year-old in November 1988 although he was never to make a league appearance before, following a loan stint with Chester City (six league appearances), joining Huddersfield Town in July 1990 where he played 57 league matches. With a period on loan at Doncaster Rovers also under his belt, Neil left the Terriers in September 1993 to sign for West Bromwich Albion for whom he was to make 43 league appearances.

Released by Albion after two seasons Neil, at the age of twenty-nine, arrived at Exeter City in August 1995 and promptly made his debut for the Grecians against Darlington in the opening fixture of the season on 12 August 1995. With City finishing 14th in the fourth-tier it proved to be a steady season for both club and player with Neil making 32 appearances although this was not sufficient for him to be offered a new contract.

Dropping out of the Football League, Neil returned to Witton Albion ahead of managing Guiseley, North Ferriby United, Farsley Celtic and the new Farsley club formed to replace the disbanded Celtic. Moving into the construction industry, he became a site manager with Redrow Homes in West Yorkshire.
