Having played for Coventry City and Durham City, Tommy Parkin had a brief spell with Exeter City in the mid-1920s before playing for Merthyr, Yeovil and Weymouth.
After playing for both North Shields and Wallsend, Tommy spent one season with Preston Colliery before joining Coventry City in 1924 where he scored two goals in 20 league appearances. He then moved back to the North East with Durham City for whom he netted eight goals in 49 league outings.
Tommy joined Exeter City in the summer of 1926 and made his debut on Christmas Day 1926 against Plymouth Argyle at Home Park. He played in the following three games but only once again afterwards before leaving St James’ Park to appear for Merthyr Town during the 1927/28 season. He scored once for City against Bristol Rovers.
After 23 league starts (one goal) in South Wales, Tommy had spells with Yeovil & Petters United and Weymouth.
Tommy died in Yeovil in 1984.
