Battling Exeter City earned full marks against a poor Bradford City team on the Valley Parade ground this afternoon, and further eased their anxiety concerning their Third Division tenure. Holman following a concerted move which left the home defence flat- footed, put Exeter in front two minutes before the interval, but in the 70th minute Bradford's best move of the match had the Exeter defence similarly unprepared, and Key was left without a hope of saving as Dolan ran through unchallenged to place the ball in the net. This development disturbed Exeter temporarily, but they recovered, and turned on commendable spirit in going all out to regain the lead, which they did at 74 minutes, when a free kick by Randell found the ever-alert Kellow anticipating the course of the ball perfectly to
move in and head past Downsborough.
