Striker

Steve Tate was a former AFC Bournemouth apprentice who appeared for City's reserves as a trialist during the early months of 1988. He went on to enjoy a long non-league career in and around Hampshire.

Later played for Salisbury City, AFC Lymington, Bashley, Havant Town and the newly-merged Havant & Waterlooville club before appearing for and managing Newport (Isle of Wight).
