Defender

Scott Simmons, a defender from South East London, was an Exeter City scholar/trainee between 2022 and 2024.

He played age group football for Cray Wanderers and first started playing for City's under-18 team as an under-16 category player in the EFL Youth Alliance in the second half of 2021/22. As a player from outside the club's academy, he commenced his two-year scholarship in July 2022 and continued playing for the youth team in the league in 2022/23 with an appearance in the FA Youth Cup against Newport County at St James' Park.

Ahead of the 2023/24 season he played in a first-team friendly against Weston-super-Mare and later featured in the club's FA Youth Cup games against Reading City and Hemel Hempstead Town before going on loan to Tavistock towards the end of the season. Later returning to St James' Park, Scott was released in the summer of 2024 without being offered a professional contract.

Thereafter he returned to the London area and, after an initial spell with Whitehawk, joined Welling United in June 2025.
