Jacca Cavendish, a central defender from Bodmin, signed for Exeter City as a scholar/trainee after finishing year 11 in 2023 but missed his first full-time season with the club because of serious injury.
Part of City's academy since the under-11s, and also an age-group cricketer for Cornwall, Jacca was already playing for the under-18s in the EFL Youth Alliance in 2022/23 as an under-16s player as well as being named on the bench for FA Youth Cup matches during the same season. Suffering a cruciate ligament injury in March 2023, his scholarship/traineeship started in July 2023 but he did play again until August 2024. Recovering fitness Jacca quickly bacame a regular member of the under-18s who he captained in the FA Youth Cup.
