Theo Cutler, a striker from Dorchester, sign was an Exeter City scholar/trainee between 2023 and 2025. He had been with the club’s academy since the under-13 category and made his only first-team appearance in the EFL Trophy soon after the start of his first season as a scholar.
Theo appeared as an under-16s player for under-18s in the EFL Youth Alliance during 2022/23 and was also named in the squad for the FA Youth Cup tie against Newport County in October 2022.
Ahead of the 2023/24 season at the start of his traineeship, he appeared in a first-team friendly against Weston-super-Mare before making his official first-team debut in the EFL Trophy against Reading on 19 September 2023. He also scored in both of the club's FA Youth Cup games in 2023/24 prior to joining Tiverton Town on loan in December 2023 where he was to score on his debut.
Moving into his second full-time season with the club, Theo appeared in the opening pre-season friendly against Tiverton Town in July 2024 ahead of featuring for the under-21s in the Premier League Cup and in the EFL Trophy against Tottenham Hotspur under-21s. Continuing to appear for the under-18s, he was part of the club's squad for FA Youth Cup games and also featured in the Devon St Luke's Bowl in which he scored six times in the 11-0 victory over Torquay United on 2 December 2024 ahead of spending time on loan with Exmouth Town prior to picking up an injury that severely hampered his progress during the remainder of the season.
Ultimately Theo wasn't offered a professional deal on conclusion of his traineeship in May 2025.
