A goal after the interval by Keith Bowker enabled the City to get a point at Mansfield after Allen had scored for the home side in the 33rd minute. Exeter were unable to field their new signing, Rogers, as the player's registration forms were not received by the League in time, and the only change in the team was in the midfield line, where Randell replaced Forbes.
