Burton Albion (home)
17th November 2007
City's unbeaten home record came to an abrupt halt as Burton swept them aside in front of 3,823 at St James Park. Exeter deservedly took the lead on the half hour when Jamie Mackie headed home Wayne Carlisle's cross. The away side were level when a corner was cleared only as far as Harrad, who lashed home an equaliser. Another poorly defended corner eight minutes into the second half saw City fall behind as Clare netted. Clare grabbed his second and Burton's third five minutes later when he fired past Andy Marriott. Burton compounded the Grecians' misery in the last minute when a counter attack saw Harrad notch his second and give the Brewers a comprehensive away victory.
City's line up: Marriott; Friend, Edwards, Matt Taylor, Richardson; Moxey, Gill, Cozic, Carlisle; Basham, Mackie.

Burton Albion's Daryl Clare and Shaun Harrad each netted a brace as they helped their side come back from a goal down to beat Exeter. Jamie Mackie headed Exeter ahead from Wayne Carlisle's cross but a Burton corner led to Harrad scoring with a left-foot shot and equalising. Clare netted in similar fashion after another corner before he was set up by Andrew Corbett to fire in his second. Harrad then got on the end of Andy Gooding's ball to seal an easy win.
