MATCH REPORTS

EXETER 3 REIGATE 2
Friendly

Our first match of the season was the annual game against Reigate, which does seem a long time ago now, however with a some-what changed side, this game  turned out to be more of an experiment than  anything else. Without Trina and Fran our middle of defence was more vunerable than usual, however restructuring with Jackie, Mandy B, and Debbie we managed to settle down fairly quickly. Of course after a  few months break some of our best football was very hard to find. Annie opened her scoring account with a fine goal, but Reigate soon pulled the deficit back and it was all square by half time.

Coming out with a more possitive attitude in the second half we began to put more constructive moves together. Although Reigate played well and quickly closed our play down, we made space and put some good moves together, pulliing ahead with goal by Bridget. We began to string our passes together, another goal soon came from Penny and the longer the game went on the more ше took command, however a lapse in concentration allowed Reigate to slip through and pull one back. With a win under our belts we looked forward to the coming season.
