Larkhall Athletic changed their shape and as a result City's defence was starting to be stretched. Kayane Alencar replaced Molly Booth and Lucie Waddon replaced Courtney Butt. City continued to be disciplined when defending and Larkhall attacks continued to be broken down in the central areas of the pitch.
With minutes to spare, the referee awarded Larkhall a penalty kick for a strong challenge which was duly slotted home past Lipscombe who had a fine game.
Manager Adam Grove said "I was pleased by our performance throughout the game today. We showed fantastic defensive cohesion and worked brilliantly together as units to limit Larkhall's opportunities. We showed attacking flair that's come naturally through an improvement of chemistry and we soaked up the pressure brilliantly when we defended. It's a shame to lose the game on a penalty however that's the bitter truth if we fail to capitalise on good possession of the ball. I continue to be proud of my players not only for their performances on the field but their commitment to the cause off the field. I believe we've finally found our feet in this division and once we start getting positive results, we won't be stopped. All we need is a good run of form and we'll be flying."
