EXETER 2 V EXMOUTH 1

Our first match was a friendly against Exmouth at Wyvern Barracks. We lacked match practice and it showed.

Exmouth played well and went into the lead early on in the match. Exeter managed to put some good moves together but were unable to finish them off, until the Exmouth defence cracked and we were able to eventually put the ball into the back off the net.

In the second half it was very even, but Exeter were able to put a fine flowing move together and using their speed to overcome the Exmouth defence, with Ju Trott gathering the ball from the base line and crossing it into the penalty box where Annie got up well and glanced it into the corner of the goal.
