PLYMOUTH v EXETER

FRIENDLY

This was a friendly to play for the David Worth Memorial Shield.

We travelled to Plymouth and had to face attrocious conditions, with a bad pitch and gale force winds. The first half was terrible, both teams struggled to play good football, however Plymouth managed to penetrate our defence, and had it hot been For Brenda's amazing reflexes in goal we would have been more than two down at half time.

We knew we had to work hard in the second half to save the game, but with the wind on our side we managed to scramble the ball over the line with Annie putting the final touch, we got stronger as the game went on and our second goal soon followed.

It is not often Brenda has chance to score in the oppositions net, but with a high teasing kick from goal, which was helped along by the wind. it beat both attackers and defences and hit the back of the net to win us the match and shield.
