MATCH REPORT

EXETER 5-2 CARDIFF 

LEAGUE

This the second of our League matches was full of incidents that is for of sure. Within the first minutes of kicking off we were 1-0 down, through a defensive error and we hit the post with a free shot at goal. With end to end football there was a lot of pressure on both goals and eventually we managed to apply enough pressure to cause the Cardiff goalie to fumble the ball, and Annie made no mistake in putting it away, to even the score and that's how it stayed until half time.

The second half started at the same fast pace, again the football was fast and flowing. After 10 mins, Karen Jones the Cardiff goalie went to collect the ball and unfortunately dislocated her finger badly and was rushed to hospital.

With Cardiff substituting the goalie we began to play with more effort and following up an attack Penny took a shot which hit the back of the net. However within seconds Cardiff replied with a well taken chance, which caught us napping.

With Cardiff loosing their concentration we put some fine football together and with a lovely move Ju T. put a perfect ball through to Annie who scored a very good goal.

We began to get on top of the game and the football improved, Annie again took advantage of our of our attack and scored to complete her hat trick. We finally made sure of the game with a goal scored by Bridget.

A good two points to help us on our way to retaining the League Championship.
