MATCH REPORT

KEYNSHAM 4 EXETER 2

3rd March 1985.

LEAGUE

We knew before we travelled away to Bristol that this would not be an easy game for us. We had already had bad games against this team and having not played for so many weeks our task was that much more difficult.

When we arrived the pitch was doubtful although we had played on much worse. It was tacky and heavy and this was to tell as the match went on.

We started well, earning a quick goal coming from Annie who took her chance well and making the most of a defensive error. With end to end play this is how the first half ended. We held onto our lead for fifteen minutes, before Keynsham took advantage of a quick break through and scored. Our game then began to go down hill and our lack of match practice began to take its toll.

Keynsham with strong physical players put some good moves together and scored twice to leave us with lot of work to do. Our only other attack came a from an individual effort from Annie who did well to beat the defence and find the back of the net.

With five minutes to go Keynsham sealed the game for themselves with a fine goal. Although we played reasonably well it was a disappointing us. result for
