Idris Miles played ten games for Exeter City in the autumn of 1937 having joined the club from Clapton Orient. He later played for Worcester City.

After representing local club Radnor Road, Idris was given his Football League chance with Cardiff City in 1930 when he appeared in three matches. He then moved on to Southern League Yeovil and Petters United before signing for Leicester City in 1932 for whom he added a further seven league outings. He subsequently enjoyed the best spell of his career after linking up with Clapton Orient in 1934 and, in two seasons with the club, scored six goals in 73 league appearances.

Signing for Exeter City in the summer of 1937, Idris went straight into the team for the opening game of the season against Newport County at Somerton Park and featured in the first ten league matches of the season - eight on the right-wing; two on the left - up until his final first-team game against Aldershot on 9 October 1937.

Later leaving St James' Park to sign for Worcester City, Idris remained in the Worcestershire area until his death in Dudley in October 1983.
